1Our Commitment
At OneNoughtOne, we believe that everyone should have equal access to quality computer science education. We are committed to making our platform accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform and strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
2Accessibility Features
Our platform includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation
Full keyboard navigation support throughout the platform. Use Tab to navigate, Enter to activate, and Escape to close modals.
Visual Accessibility
High contrast themes, resizable text, and clear visual hierarchy. Dark mode available for reduced eye strain.
Responsive Design
Our platform adapts to different screen sizes and works with screen magnification software.
Screen Reader Support
Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading structure for screen reader compatibility.
3WCAG Conformance
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are organized around four principles:
- Perceivable: Information and interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive
- Operable: Interface components and navigation must be operable
- Understandable: Information and operation of the interface must be understandable
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of assistive technologies
4Known Limitations
While we strive to ensure accessibility across our entire platform, some areas may have limitations:
- Code Editor: Our interactive code editor may have limited screen reader support. We are actively working on improvements.
- Visualizations: Some algorithm visualizations rely on visual cues. We provide alternative text descriptions where possible.
- Third-Party Content: Some embedded content from third parties may not meet our accessibility standards.
We are continuously working to address these limitations and appreciate your patience and feedback.
5Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our platform has been tested with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) on Windows
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- JAWS (Job Access With Speech)
- TalkBack on Android
We recommend using the latest versions of these screen readers with modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) for the best experience.
6Continuous Improvement
Ongoing Development
We regularly audit and improve our platform's accessibility.
Our accessibility improvement process includes:
- Regular accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing
- User testing with people who have disabilities
- Training our development team on accessibility best practices
- Incorporating accessibility into our design and development processes
- Monitoring and acting on accessibility feedback
